About Propipe North America
Propipe is a technology company that is leading the design and development of pipeline pig, pipeline pig tracking and pipeline plug technologies. Over 20 years of design, pig testing and development has produced a range of pipeline pigs and these are enhanced with the pig tracking equipment from our Trident range – this includes the revolutionary APEX Above Ground Marker, EM Transmitters, SMART Gauge Technologies and DeepBlue Subsea ROV Receiver.
Owner-operated since 1998, Propipe produces custom designs of pipeline pigs and also pipeline isolation plugs that are built to match (or exceed) the expectations of clients. Pipeline plugs are manual or hydraulic and can be installed by ROV.

Description of Services
Propipe is an engineering-driven manufacturer for oil & gas products. All engineering and product development is undertaken at the main site in Hartlepool, UK. To support these engineered products, a range of solutions & services are utilised to manufacture and test.
Engineering & Project Management
On site a team of design engineers utilise both 2D & 3D CAD packages to design all Propipe & Proplug products. Teams of experienced Project Managers & Project Engineers are on hand to deliver large projects that require strict documentation and testing packages to be followed.
Piggability Testing
Propipe has a dedicated pig testing facility in Hartlepool, UK. Testing of pigs is regularly undertaken at the request of Operators, Installation Contractors, Pre-commissioning companies to confirm the piggability of a pipeline system in various scenarios.
Pig Handling Equipment
Propipe pig handling equipment is designed and used for a wide variety of applications: from loading/recovery of pre-commissioning pigs into subsea PLRs to routine operational/maintenance pigs into oversize launchers. Tools can be hydraulic, pneumatic OR manually operated.
Hydrotesting
For pipeline plugs and pig tracking equipment, Propipe has two dedicated hydrotest facilities to support testing of products. A 1000 Bar, 20 Litre hydrotest vessel is used for testing Trident pig tracking equipment. Pipeline plugs are tested within a dedicated test bay to validate designs.
Fabrication
Propipe’s fabrication facility has the capability to handle fabrication of Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel & Aluminium fabrications. Core work is pig body & test pipe fabrication to support Propipe products & services. However, other non-standard fabrications are also handled in the facility from external sources.
