OpenAI Adds Professor Zico Kolter To Its Board

A Carnegie Mellon professor, Zico Kolter, has been added to OpenAI’s board of directors. Professor Zico is an authority in AI safety, and his technical expertise in AI safety will be invaluable to OpenAI governance. OpenAI has recently had issues with its AI safety team, with its top AI safety executives leaving, such as IIya Sutskever.

Professor Zico completed his PhD in computer science in 2010 from Standford University. His Research interests include investigating bypassing AI safeguards using automated optimization techniques.
