Retired Russia Satellite Explodes

A Russian satellite which was retired in 2022, the RESURS-P1, is reported to have shattered into more than 100 pieces not too far away from the International Space Station. Astronauts at the ISS were advised to shelter for more than hour until debris from the explosion passed. No accidents or damages to other satellites occurred as a result of the explosion.
