Will The Huge Investments in AI Ever Pay Off?

As is already well known, artificial intelligence is a capital-hungry and energy-hungry technology. Technology companies are reportedly pouring in over $1 trillion into AI. These investments are going into developing larger data centers, better AI chips, and energy grids. But the big question being asked is, will these investments yield any return, and how soon? Goldman Sachs analysts are not too optimistic, and postulate it may be a very long time before investors start to realize any return on their invested capital into AI, that is if at all any will be realized.
