Our Mission
To manage development of U.S. Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) energy, mineral, and geological resources in an environmentally and economically responsible way.
Oil and Gas
BOEM is responsible for all OCS leasing policy and program development issues for oil, gas and other marine minerals.
Marine Minerals
BOEM works with coastal communities to provide Outer Continental Shelf sand to restore and protect shorelines. Our work supports coastal resilience, state and local economies, and ecological habitat.
