Guane’s Reservoir Characterization Consultants specialize in predictive earth-modeling for petroleum resource assessment and exploitation. We are expert users of the Petrel Interpretation and Modeling Platform.
Geological Consulting Solutions
GGC provides geo-modeling consulting for reservoir characterization using fit for purpose model design. Our goal is a reservoir model which allows our clients to quantify the subsurface geology in a form that is useful for making engineering and business decisions. GGC geo-model consultants average 20 years experience with major O&G companies and have concentrated on Permian basin, Williston basin, West Africa and GOM model building.
a) Predictive Geomodeling
Permian Basin Predictive Geomodeling
Guane specializes in continuous development of the geomodel for reserves assessment, production optimization, and cost reduction in unconventional plays.
Our consultants have experience model building in West Africa, East Texas, offshore GOM, and the Bakken. Our recent consultancy has focused exclusively in the Midland and Delaware Basins.

b) Exploration & New Venture Evaluation

Description of Services
Illinois Shallow Oil
Guane Geological is currently pursuing internally developed shallow oil prospects in the Illinois Basin. We operate responsibly and treat landowners fairly.
We are focused on “step-out” drilling within the prolific Buckhorn Consolidated Oil Field trend in Brown County, Illinois. We are pursuing leases to drill 2 step-out wells in the next 18 months.
Step-out wells are wells located near existing fields/discoveries and have a higher expectation of success than wildcat exploration wells. Guane’s step-out drilling prospects are within an established trend and will test independent structures or traps adjacent to producing fields.

What we do
Carbon Capture and Storage Geo-Modeling
We are an established petroleum industry geomodeling group and are expanding our capabilities to specialize in modeling for CO2 sequestering in geological structures, including saline aquifers and depleted oil and gas reservoirs.
Our models allow assessment of candidate storage sites based on the key characteristics of Capacity, Containment, and Injectivity.
- Capacity—how much CO2 can be stored?
- Injectivity—what injection rates are possible?
- Containment—what are the risks of leakage?
Using regional geology, available seismic data and existing legacy wells, Guane geoscientists can created an initial geologic model using the Petrel E&P software platform. From this model, a flow model using ECLIPSE or other industry reservoir simulation software can be created.
