About HCL Fasteners Ltd
HCL Fasteners Ltd is a family-owned business specializing in Polymer product manufacture.
HCL began in 1994 with the acquisition by the company Chairman Howard Coles of the original double toothed Nylon hose Clamp the Herbie Clip. The Herbie ® Clip was and still is sold successfully along with its sister product the Ezyclik ® to OEM’s around the world.
Initially, the manufacturing of the products was sub-contracted but in 1996 the decision was made by the then Engineering Director David Coles to bring the manufacture of the parts in House. Thus in 1996 HCL Fasteners established new premises near Bath in the South West of England
The beginning of the 21st century saw HCL develop the Smart ® Band product and this became very successful in the offshore and marine industry because of its ease of use and non-corrosive benefits around this time Peter Coles (Sales Director) joined the company. The success of the early Smart ® Band snowballed into the development of stronger versions and the penetration specifically into the Oil & Gas industry gave birth to the Smart ® Tie & Smart ® Protector.
Over the past 10 years the company has changed beyond recognition and during this time HCL has established an office in Houston moved to a larger facility more than doubled its workforce, increased its manufacturing capacity and brought in-house the manufacture of mould tools.

Product Groups
For over 30 years HCL has been leading the world in the design and manufacture of composite polymer clamping systems. Operating from its Bath manufacturing facility all products are designed and built in the United Kingdom to the highest possible standards. HCL’s clamps are designed to withstand the toughest environments and offer the strongest non-metallic performance in the world.
Polymer Banding & Ties
A range of High Strength, Composite Polymer Banding Solutions, Including the Smart Band Compact (our strongest product – fixed length strap), Smart Band Hybrid & Standard (available in Reels) & the Smart Tie (fixed length cable tie).
Polymer Hose Clamps
Best known for the Herbie Clip Nylon Snap Fit Hose Clamp HCL also manufactures the Ezyclik low profile Snap Fit Hose Clamp highly suited to production line operations and the Ezyclamp which is a unique Nylon Worm Drive Hose Clamp.
Hose Clamp Air Tools
HCL leads the way in manufacturing and supplying a range of hose clamp air tools, not just to fit its own nylon hose clamps but also available for metallic hose clamps including ear clamps. The HCL control box add numerous features to assist in production line operations.
BAND & TIE TOOLS
Specially designed tools built in the UK to provide intuitive installation of the Smart Band. The 1000 & 2000 tools are ideally suited to installation by divers, rope access and the 3000 tool is designed for high-volume installations on the deck of a ship or shoreside.
Metal Hose Clamps
HCL also distributes a wide range of metallic Hose Clamp solutions from many of the world’s leading brands including Mikalor, Oetiker, JCS Hi-Torque, Jubilee, Tridon & Norma.
Saddles & Protectors
