SWD. Saltwater Disposal Wells
With hundreds of saltwater disposal wells under our belts, we help you plan and execute injection wells to deal with briny produced water.
2). Wastewater & Disposal Wells
As water districts face the need to use more challenging water sources for potable water that require reverse osmosis, it creates a challenge for their engineering firms of how best to deal with the briny reject water. Injection wells can be the best Solution for a water district.
Industrial and oilfield clients often have a need to dispose of fluids associated with oil and natural gas production or industrial hazardous and non-hazardous fluids wastes into deep, isolated geological rock formation. Proper evaluation of the permeability, porosity and geologic sealing in the proposed geologic formation is an important investigation to gain EPA and state approval.
IPT can assist in obtaining Class I and Class II permits to allow the project to proceed. In addition, IPT can assist in the well plan and field execution.
IPT can help with EPA permits, state regulatory compliance, and project management for your injection well.

4). Solution Mining
Solution mining offers several benefits compared to traditional mining methods including lower environmental impact, reduced energy consumption, higher resource recovery to deeper deposits, and reduced safety risk. Overall, solution mining offers a range of advantages that make it an attractive option for extracting certain types of minerals, particularly those that are soluble in a suitable solvent and located in deep or challenging geological environments.
At IPT we specialize in providing innovative solutions to extract valuable minerals such as trona, lithium and uranium, dissolved in water/solvent, that can be extracted with solution mining techniques in a safe and environmentally sensitive process.
Solution Mining
We can provide a wide range of services to evaluate, engineer and execute on your solution mining project.
We have completed both Front End Engineering Development (FEED) plans and execution plans for solution mining projects. Please contact IPT Solutions Mining for your next project.
5). Geothermal
Geothermal energy is a renewable energy source that harnesses heat from within the Earth. This is naturally occurring hydrothermal heat that can be used for various applications, including electricity generation, direct heating, and industrial processes. High-temperature geothermal reservoirs are close to the Earth’s surface and are typically found in regions with volcanic activity, tectonic plate boundaries, and other geologically active areas. Common technologies include dry steam, flash steam, and binary cycle power plants.
Because of the excessive heat in these regions, there could be potential issues with geothermal well drilling and completion as well as finding suitable reservoirs for geothermal applications.
Fortunately, advancements in technology, such as Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS), are expanding the potential for geothermal energy by enabling the use of resources in a wider range of locations. Additionally, ongoing research aims to lower the costs of geothermal well drilling and mitigate environmental impacts, making geothermal a more viable and widespread energy solution.
Enhanced geothermal systems can exploit the Earth’s heat at greater depths where natural hydrothermal reservoirs are not present. It can involve creating artificial reservoirs by injecting water into hot dry rocks to create fractures and extract heat.
Geothermal Well Drilling
EGS technology involves various methods and tools used to explore, access, and manage the underground environment where it operates.
While conventional geothermal systems are currently more widely used, EGS offers the promise of expanding geothermal energy’s reach and potential. This is why IPT’s geothermal well engineering and drilling service experts specialize in EGS.
