A brief history of Moyes:
Christopher Moyes, the current Chairman and Past President, formed Moyes in 1983 after working with Gaffney, Cline & Associates, Inc. (GCA) in various senior management positions. Dee Patterson, current President, joined Moyes. in 2000 after spending his career with Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) and Vastar Resources.

Data
Moyes has maintained an in-house industry database since 1983 which is invaluable to support Client projects. Arguably Moyes has one of the industry’s most reliable and comprehensive data sets for global transactions, companies and business contacts. The information is stored in Moyes’ Global Exploration Database (GED) and it also contains data on historic and current license blocks, wells, fields, divestment opportunities and bid rounds.

Transaction Management
Moyes has considerable experience in the evaluation of international exploration and production properties, including the assessment of technical and commercial risks, resource evaluation, portfolio modelling, and economic analysis. We have extensive experience in working with Clients on projects in most countries in the world that have hydrocarbon potential. We provide professional advice in the closing of transactions and with detailed background information on comparable asset sales and the ability to compile a comprehensive contact list of potential investors, the economic benefit of the transaction is optimized.
Fair Market Valuations & CPR
Fair Market Valuations (FMV) and Competent Person’s Reports (CPR) are comprehensive independent technical and commercial documents prepared for Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) and fairness opinions. These provide the Client with a comprehensive snapshot of the value of the project(s) at a specific date. Moyes has access and the ability to collate all the client and public domain information to reach a suitable valuation. Moyes applies risk levels to these results consistent with those that have been applied in similar transactions globally, and more generally, of the type generally used by prudent buyers in determining the purchase price of worldwide exploration and development opportunities. The information gathered includes, but is not limited to, financial data, production data and technical presentations.
Information Memorandums
Information Memorandums (IM) are comprehensive reports including, but not limited to, the project background and summary, development and operation plans, costs, legal ramifications, financing plan, economic analysis and risk evaluation. These are often compiled for Clients to assist with their discussions with National Oil Companies (NOC) and government bodies, investors and partners, and investment processes.
Expert Witness, Global Arbitration and Litigation
Moyes offers independent systematic project evaluations and has considerable expertise in the evaluation of upstream projects through a thorough understanding of global host government petroleum agreements, including sophisticated cash flow modelling capability. Through its extensive global involvement and experience, Moyes is also able to provide expert testimony on evaluation-related matters—including oil and gas fiscal systems—from the perspective of industry custom and practice. Moyes’ proprietary energy database provides valuable and comprehensive insight into the history of upstream projects in many different operating theatres and over many decades to support this testimony.
