New Century operates in both conventional and unconventional plays, with a focus on sustainable cash flow with attractive margins, recoupment of invested capital, and operating efficiencies.
What we do
Cotton Valley Sands
The Cotton Valley play began in the early 1950’s with legacy vertical drilling and completion technologies. Horizontal drilling post 2000 allowed Operators to access larger rock volume with fewer wells and resulted in much greater oil and gas recovery.
New Century’s Duke 1H, located in Harrison County, came on stream at over 7,000 MCF. It is one of the top Cotton Valley gas producers per lateral foot in Harrison County.
Gulf Coast Conventional Sands
New Century Exploration has licenses to over 5,000 square miles of 3D seismic data, primarily in Texas and Louisiana. The company has drilled conventional Gulf Coast wells for over two decades and continues to enjoy a highly successful track record using that data.
Haynesville Shale
New Century has over 5,000 net acres held by production in the northern portion of the Haynesville Shale Trend in North Louisiana and East Texas. Development is on hold pending higher natural gas prices.
