Painted Wolf Resources !

Natural gas exploration and production company with an emphasis on the North Sea.

About Painted Wolf Resources

We are a team of Southern North Sea basin experts with an emphasis on the redevelopment of former gas field and the commercialisation of undeveloped gas discoveries.

Our team of highly experienced and successful sub-surface professionals is one of the largest and most experienced working in the basin. We focus on finding and maturing commercial quantities of natural gas that, to-date, have been missed by the industry.

E&P companies often choose animals as part of their corporate identity – Mobil’s Pegasus, Agip’s six legged fire breathing dog, Shell’s scallop shell and a fearsome predator like Exxon’s tiger.

The painted wolf is the most successful hunter on the African plains with a hunting strike rate of 80%, significantly ahead of cheetahs at 55%, leopards 35% and far better than lions at 25%. It is the perfect icon for our company.

Painted wolves’ success is down to how they operate as a pack. Team work, communication and co-operation by the group, rather than individuals, deliver this high success rate.  And it is these same attributes that underpin the work environment at Painted Wolf Resources.

Our team of highly experienced and successful sub-surface professionals form a very efficient pack, hunting for commercial quantities of natural gas, principally in the highly prolific Southern North Sea hydrocarbon province.

Description of Services

Our Assets

Painted Wolf has held multiple licences in the UKCS Southern North Sea gas basin as well as the Central North Sea.  We made multiple applications in the 33rd Licensing Round, using our expertise and extensive available data to identify high grade, low risk opportunities to redevelop former producing gas fields and develop gas discoveries.

Our Approach

Our approach is very targeted: understanding how to commercialise unexploited discoveries; revisiting previously-producing fields to identify undrained compartments; and expanding play concepts from established fields and basins into unexplored areas.

What we do

Why The Southern North Sea?

The UK Sector of the North Sea still has significant commercial potential, particularly gas in the Southern North Sea – there are opportunities as well as 50+ years of data and knowledge. There are multiple undeveloped discoveries, fields that have not been fully drained and opportunities to explore play concepts that expand from established fields into a wider footprint.

Life at Painted Wolf Resources

Opportunity in the Data

Since gas was first discovered in 1965, many hundreds of seismic surveys have been acquired and thousands of exploration, appraisal and development wells have been drilled. The resulting dataset vast.  Our team have been working in the Southern North Sea for the majority of their career and have a strong track record of using historical data to identify opportunities missed by previous operators.
