Air quality is deteriorating
Warming is expected to continue beyond 2100 because, even if all emissions suddenly stopped, the oceans have already stored a lot of heat, carbon sinks need to be restored, and carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases have a long lifetime in the atmosphere.
Over the past 100 years, human industrial activity has led to an increase in CO2 levels from 350 ppm to 450 ppm, which is causing global warming.
At the beginning of the earth, the activity of microalgae allowed it to go from 10,000 to 350 ppm.
Microalgae captured this CO2, produced oxygen, and created our atmosphere. We must use them to stem global warming and bring the level down from 450 ppm to 350 ppm. Although microalgae capture continues in the oceans, they are now only able to recover 40% of our CO2 emissions.
We therefore need to develop new solutions that reproduce the activity of microalgae in the oceans by integrating this phenomenon into our environment.
