Unity’s advanced pressure control equipment has been developed to address a growing industry demand to reduce operational footprint, minimise personnel on site and ultimately improve safety. Our technology is manufactured and tested to the highest industry standards ensuring it meets quality and safety requirements globally.

• Plug & Abandonement

We hold contracts with leading operators to provide services on over 1000 wells and over the last 30 years our technicians have serviced and repaired just about every type of wellhead system in the industry. We have taken that knowledge and built a track record of successful decommissioning support work on over 240 wells in the UKCS and Europe with another 100+ currently in the pipeline.

We provide a single point of multi-level expertise for all your late and end of life well integrity projects. Working closely with our clients, this expertise enables efficient planning, cost saving and streamlined workscopes to be realised, reducing rig time and any likelihood of overruns. Project examples include intervention work for plug setting, isolation verification, removal of Xmas trees and tubing hangers, through to the supply and fitting of suspension flanges.

Our Wellhead Integrity Verification Programme is a crucial preparatory Phase 0 undertaking for operators looking to avoid unplanned downtime, cost overruns and risk during P&A operations.  It provides a full health check of your wellhead and near-surface equipment prior to P&A and delivers value throughout the entire decom process.

We deliver added value to our customers through the use of our own innovative technology. For example, our compact but powerful Surface Intervention System efficiently delivers a range of inspection, cleanout, plug setting and sleeve installation applications to maintain wellhead integrity during decom operations. The system is ideal for shallow, low-cost remediation work, especially where deck space and logistics are a challenge.

In the high cost subsea industry, we are experiencing increasing demand for innovative technology to improve efficiency in decommissioning, where small gains provide large savings. Our Temporary Abandonment Cap Test Tool (TACTT) uniquely provides a means of verifying any pressure buildup below the TA cap of suspended mudline wells prior to removal. The TACTT will safely vent this pressure and install a secondary seal if required. This enables a choice to be made between rig or vessel-based abandonment, reducing overall time and cost of P&A activities.

• Production

Unity production services capability encompasses most of the production top-side arena: Valve healthcare facilitates meeting the requirements of performance standards during planned shutdowns.

ESDV testing and maintenance supports a smart maintenance testing approach which identifies issues with safety critical valves and crosses over to control panel maintenance. Responsive Maintenance and Projects services provides a service that is responsive to unplanned operator requirements, allows for an ad-hoc service for smaller clients and provides a product that targets bigger, single projects such as decommissioning or engineering and design solutions.

Unity was formed through the combination of Well-Centric and Simmons Edeco Europe in December 2018.

A FrontRow Energy Technology Group company, Unity is Europe’s largest independent supplier of well integrity services, with operations in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth in the UK, and Esbjerg in Denmark. It employs around 120 members of staff across its three locations.

Simmons Edeco Europe, a division of its larger Canadian owned international parent group, was highly recognised for its wellhead maintenance work, both offshore and on land. Well-Centric had a complementary well integrity service offering, which importantly included proprietary technology designed to reduce operating costs, extend well life and simplify abandonment. The two companies shared a number of excellent synergies and were a natural fit. The combined entity now trades under the brand name Unity.

Together, there is a high level of expertise and an excellent track record of experience working with all types of wellhead equipment, regardless of the original manufacturer. The combination is a stronger, more resilient market player, with a full-service capability and a growing technology portfolio. A strong base from which to grow the business in Europe and beyond.
