About the Author
S.D. (Sada) Joshi, Ph.D. is President of Joshi Technologies International, Inc., (JTI) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He founded JTI in 1988. The company is involved in field application, equipment design, and software development for horizontal wells. Dr. Joshi has delivered more than 75 lectures and short courses on horizontal well technology around the world and has published numerous technical papers in many professional journals and conferences. JTI is actively involved in many field and pilot projects around the globe, including selection of zones or formations as horizontal well targets and design and implementation of horizontal well projects. In addition, Dr. Joshi and the JTI staff are involved in thermal oil recovery, well testing, reservoir heterogeneities, and water flooding studies.
Prior to founding his company, Dr. Joshi was employed at Phillips Petroleum Company. He has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from W.C.E. College in Sangli, India, a master's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, India, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University.
