Supplier Quality Manager
Essential Job Functions:
- Contributes to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve supplier operational performance
- Participates in new business initiatives and projects, reviews and communicates the impact on Supplier Quality activities
- Supports new product launches to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to the required quality standards
- Leads supplier development strategy, designing the metrics for the function and supplier performance
- Monitors supplier performance ensuring quality manufacturing processes are relevant and effective
- Supports and, when needed, conducts supplier audits to improve process standardization and eliminate waste
- Identifies root cause of problems and delays/expedites corrective actions
- Drives reduction in operational risk through formalized analysis methods such as FMEA/FMECA and risk management
- Researches and implements strategies to support lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement
- Assures proper inspection and test plans are established and deployed to assure supplier provided product or service meets pre-defined requirements
- Supports simplification of the quality process (ITPs, NDE/NDTs, AVL qualification, etc.) and qualifies additional specialty service providers
- Reports supplier performance and quality to management
- Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or a Health Safety and Environmental team member
- Assuring compliance and assisting to confirm adherence to the Kimray Quality Management System, assuring that internal and external standards and requirements are achieved
- Participates in proactive teams to achieve departmental and company goals
- Manages, coaches and develops a high performing Supplier Quality team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
- Sets department objectives/KPIs and reviews and assesses ongoing performance of direct reports
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
- Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3 years in a Supplier Quality Management role required
- Experience developing/managing mature quality systems for industries such as automotive, aerospace or top-tier oilfield manufacturing preferred
- Knowledge of formal methods to identify root causes of problems and identify process and design improvements to further drive quality assurance
- Greenbelt/Blackbelt, CQE, CQM, CSQM, or other ASQ, certifications preferred
- Knowledge of RCFA & FMEA/FMECA methods preferred
- CMM programming/operation preferred
- Must have analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated PC proficiency
- Ability to manage, develop and support multiple employees
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral or diagram form
- Must have valid driver’s license and clean MVR
- Must pass background check and drug screen

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, mechanical engineering technology required
Work Environment:
- Office/Warehouse Environment -PPE required in specific areas
- Limited exposure to elevated noise and moving equipment
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive use of hands
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.
Travel:
- Up to 30% travel required
