Quick commerce is an ecommerce concept whereby the ecommerce company places warehouses & distribution centers at very strategic locations which are very close to target shoppers, such that orders can be delivered to the buyer in a relatively short time, usually minutes or less than an hour.
When Covid hit in 2021, this concept received a lot of interest both from investors and the public, partly because it enabled consumers to place and receive orders very quickly, preventing them from going to physical in-person stores for purchases.
Flink, a startup based out of Germany that plays in this quick ecommerce space, has reportedly raised $150 million to further its growth and expansion in the market. It’s current target regions of operations are Germany and Holland. The company reports it expects to hit $600 million in gross revenue in 2024.
