We previously reported on Bluesky’s rapid surge in new registrations recently. However the company has announced even further growth. The company announced Monday on X (twitter) that it now has more than 10 million users. This rapid growth came after Brazil’s supreme court banned X from operating in the country and imposed a fine on users who used VPNs. The company reported that millions of users signed up in a matter of days, which caused technical glitches in its servers.
Bluesky’s main rival in the country, Meta’s Threads currently has 200 million users.
