Salesforce Acquires Own For $1.9 Billion

Salesforce announced it has acquired Own, a data management company for $1.9 billion, all cash. Own provides data protection and loss prevention services and products. Salesforce believes the purchase will complement its vast user base and provide a comprehensive solution to the massive user data it controls.

Own was launched in 2015 and provides various data management services, such as data backups, data recovery, data archiving, seeding, and data analytics amongst others.

The transaction is expected to close fourth quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals and other closing conditions.
