The success of quantitative analyses and processes depends a lot on the quality of the available seismic data. Therefore, the process of conditioning seismic information is of fundamental importance, even knowing that it is not possible to fully solve the deficiencies that the data may have due to acquisition problems and/or bad practices during processing offered by the main companies in the field.
The main challenges to be faced in the data preparation stage are related to improving the S/N ratio, attenuating multiple residual events, and optimizing (as far as possible and significant) the use of undeformed seismic signals in the far offset domain.
