Description of Service
Once the Velocity model ready, it would be fairly easy task to build the structural model. But it has to be seen whther the sofftware has the facility to build structural model directly from the velcoity model and time structural model. Otherwise one may need to first get the time surfaced converted to depth, then the resultant surfaces to be used to build the depth structure model.
Limitations:
There are limitations for each procedure in the entire process. These are specific to specific fields. In one of our projects, we faced few difficulties and Some of those have been kept here for your understanding.
- Fault definition is poor due to poor image quality at certain places which necessitates caution in estimating the exact location of fault in space.
- Events are not continuous at crest thus allow interpreter\'s imagination at those places.
- Limited VSP/Check-shot data, further adds to the uncertainty in velocity estimation over anticline crest and across the back-thrust which may cause imperfect predictions of key horizons near crest.
- Large velocity variation as observed in seismic RMS velocity across back thrust and poor horizon picking near sub-thrust zone causes large uncertainties in depth prediction of key horizons in sub-thrust zone.
Well tied depth maps:
Depth conversion doesn't complete without tying to the well tops. At Ameyem we know how to tie gently yet perfectly without generating bull eye effects in the maps.
Isopach maps:
Depending on the requirements isopach maps can be generated to be able to get an overview on how depositional environment changed through time.
